In two work blocks over the period of a year, we were allowed to dive in the archives on the fascinating life and work of the French-Palestinian actor, author, and director Francois Abou Salem, founder of the Al-Hakawati theatre group. Out of our encounters with his many pieces, eccentric life stories and the history of Palestinian theatre, we created a dense and witty political theatre piece, written and performed in Arabic, French, German and English.
